New Year’s Eve 2006
The New Year’s Eve party on Krakow’s Main Market Square flowed to the rhythm of excellent Polish music.
It featured some of the most beloved stars admired by Polish audiences for years, such as Maryla Rodowicz and Krzysztof Krawczyk, next to artists who regularly climb the charts, such as Piotr Rubik, Blue Café, Kayah, Stachursky, Reni Jusis, and Edyta Górniak. We could also hear artists new to the Polish music scene who had already managed to win the audience’s hearts: Ewelina Flinta, Monika Brodka, Zakopower, Lidia Kopania.
The party started at 8 pm. We greeted the New Year at midnight with wishes and a marvellous fireworks show.
New Year’s Eve on Krakow’s Main Market Square has gathered thousands of people for years. Krakow residents as well as tourists from all over Poland and abroad gather at this last and most exciting night in the very heart of the Old Town to have fun together. Those who couldn’t participate in the event had a chance to watch it live on POLSAT TV.
Next to the scene, around the catwalk there was a special “party zone” (for about 200 people, accessed from Św. Jana street), to which we invited all those who wore some kind of fancy dress. This included both ballgowns and funny carnival costumes.
