New Year’s Eve 2004

Bajm, T. Love, Wilki, Golec uOrkiestra and Skaldowie performed during “New Year’s Eve with the Stars” on the Main Market Square in Krakow. The New Year's Eve party has now become a tradition in Krakow, gathering crowds of participants every year.

New Year’s Eve 2003, organised in the style of the 1980s, with the participation of Oddział Zamknięty, Małgorzata Ostrowska and KOMBII, was the biggest event of its kind in Poland.
Almost 100,000 people had fun in the Main Market Square!
In 2004, in addition to performances by the stars of Polish music, many other attractions were planned. 2005 items of “obwarzanki” (pretzels) were presented to the participants. 12 “lajkoniks” (heroes on hobbyhorses) entered the crowd, and about 120 kilograms of grosiks (diminutive for grosz = 0.01 PLN) were scattered around before midnight by carollers (which is said to bring good luck for the coming year). There were also: the legendary Pan Twardowski telling fortunes on stage, the iconic Stańczyk and a few dozen dancing performers.
Right after midnight, after New Year's wishes, there was a fireworks show – one never before seen in Krakow!
Thanks to the cooperation with TVP2 channel, those who could not come to the Main Market Square on that exceptional night had a chance to see the event transmitted live on television.
