WOW!night 2009

This promises to be an excellent New Year’s Eve party. On the 31st of December the Market Square will be turned into the largest clubbing scene in Europe, with an almost 10 000 square meter dance floor. The star of the evening will be Agnieszka Chylińska, who will present songs from her latest album Modern Rocking. The concert will be accompanied by a pyrotechnic display and the largest confetti show in Poland.

The Wow! Night Music Square Session is an exceptional party for all those who love the ambitious modern sound. It is the first event of its kind in Krakow.

We will begin at 8:00 pm with the finale of the grand vote with RMF Maxxx for the clubbing hit of the year. The party will be attended by excellent DJs, such as Raul Rincon, DJ ADHD and DJ Krime and, a first for Krakow, the largest ever confetti show in Poland. After 11:00 pm we expect the star of the evening, Agnieszka Chylińska, who is well known for her characteristic voice and controversial image and who has often been called the icon of Polish Rock. She is back with new material, created in cooperation with famous producers Plan B, for the first time in five years. Modern Rocking has certainly surprised with its modern pop sound, not only the fans of the artist’s work but all those who have never listened to her music. However many loudly disapprove or approve of her new turn in music and artistic image, Agnieszka Chylińska has proven again that regardless of the music she plays at a given time, she always represents the highest quality as far as her compositions, productions and vocals are concerned.
The Krakow concert of Agnieszka Chylińska, the star of the Wow! Night Music Square Session, will be the only concert of this artist performing new material, planned before the beginning of her concert tour in February next year. What’s more, it will be also the first public appearance of Agnieszka Chylińska, with her own repertoire, for four years, which makes this an unmissable opportunity to see her!

A moment before midnight, the Mayor of Krakow, Mr Jacek Majchrowski, will wish Happy New Year to all Krakovians, the city’s guests and all those who will be partying in the Market Square, following which there will be a spectacular firework display.
The atmosphere of the last day of the year, which promises to be remarkable, will be emphasized by a special stage design. The Market Square will be closed on one side by a stage with large diode beams, with a total surface of approximately 100 square meters on its both sides, and on the other with an almost 50m wide lighting construction (another, similar in size, will be by the stage). The stage will be placed by Sukiennice (The Cloth Hall), with especially choreographed dancers performing all night. There will be approximately two hundred conventional and intelligent lights distributed along the remaining three sides of the market square, and twelve powerful lasers which, combined, will create a unique atmosphere, with specially prepared and mixed live visual effects, projected onto the diode walls. The Coda140 000 W sound system will provide sound quality adequate for this spectacular show.
